ModellerMick
Hi All I am having an issue with both Tamiya Acrylic XF1 Flat Black and Humbrol Enamal 33 Matt Black paints. Both have in recent use dried with a distinct sheen, more like satin. I have used Tamiya XF1 before with very good results, being very flat and matt. Is it due to prep, undercoat, out of date paint? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Mick.
lasermonkey
I've found that Humbrol 33 needs to be stirred thoroughly to obtain a truly matt finish. By thoroughly, I mean stir it until you think it's enough, then stir it all over again! Good luck, Mark.
ModellerMick
Thanks Mark. Best I get stirring. Mick.
bmwh548
Most likely the "flattening agent" (in lack of a better term) was still on the bottom of the bottle/tin. 1
