Creepy Pete Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 Calling this one done, even though I have still have to paint the wingtip lights, and I might add the chaff launchers of which I just recovered a part that was lost. It's the Bobcat Yak-28PP, done as blue 45, OOB. A very enjoyable kit with lots of nice detail and good fit. Painted with various shades and mixes of Vallejo Metal Color. Thanks for looking! 48 1
Abandoned Project Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 Wow! Love the finish. It just looks so "Dan Dare" to me in a good way. Fabulous work.
Des Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 Nice job and an excellent finish. Did it go together without major problems , have one in the stash although when I get round to it I think I will take the easy way and camouflage it?

Take care with the nacelles, you might have to do some trimming to get them on the wings. Not sure how 7 different colors is "the easy way"
Spitfire31 Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 Super finishing job – it really looks like a 'machine'. Kind regards, Joachim
Harold55 Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 Wonderful job you have done and and excellent finish!
Gazontipede Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 Super job! Do you have any photos of the underside where all the gee-whiz electronic gubbins are?
exdraken Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 Wow! That turned out splendid!! Great job on the Brewer :partytime:

As a very much set in my ways brush painter my successes with metal finishes have been few and far between , thought I had perfected a system a couple of years back but after what I considered a couple of good results (by my previous standards) I failed again hence my preference for 'easy' camo schemes but again congratulations on your work here.
paulsbrown Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 Love how those things sit, great job. Was there much detail behind the nose glazing?
Creepy Pete Posted January 30, 2019 Author Posted January 30, 2019 Yes, there's some decent detail in the front section. Of course you could add loads more and have the top hatch open, if you wish. I didn't take that many pics during the build, but here are a few that show it somewhat.
djos Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 Amazing work, BRAVO! Great looking model, not often seen finished.....from obvious reason. Best regards Djordje
John Masters Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 Superb build and doesn't that design just scream "Russian"?

Excellent, that's a lot more than I was expecting.
thepureness Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 NIce I like the fact you painted yours with vallejo metal colour as this was the paint I was planning to use for mine
Don McIntyre Posted March 29 Posted March 29 (edited) A little late (by 6+ years!!!) to the party, but I have to say, yours is a beautifully done Yak-28. After years of searching, I finally found one at a price I felt I could justify (under $50 USD with postage, eBay Buy-it-Now) and I ordered it right away. So I've been researching reviews. I've always felt the Brewer was such an exotic looking aircraft and yours came out great, I hope mine looks half as good when I get to it. Edited March 29 by Don McIntyre Added Verbiage 1
