Navy Trainer - Fairey Firefly T2 - Finished

Recommended Posts

Hi all

Further progress on the T2, undercarriage legs on and decals on too.  The underwing serials looked daunting although weren't that bad.  The Decals actually behaved brilliantly.

Looking good, weird looking but good nonetheless !

Thanks ForestFan, you have to love a Navy Trainer. They are fascinating and make great subjects to model.

Looking very nice indeed, Chris! Inspiration for me to start on mine, perhaps?

Thanks Jason. It is quite an enjoyable build. The undercarriage initially looked a bit daunting but went together quite well with only a small amount of work. The wheels look odd though and I have replaced those with some Barracuda cast resin replacements which have the correct smaller wheel bigger tyre combination.

Go on give it a go.

All the best

Chris

Hi all

Still working on the house, although some back problems have slowed me down recently although now sorted.  Getting there now Panel lines done and U/C doors and wheels on, getting ready for the Photo Etched bits and some very light weathering and she will be done.

That looks very good, Chris.

I'm pleased the old Pavla kit has gone to a good home, I know you will make a much better job of it than I could have done.

It is always a pleasure to see so many 'older' kits that need very careful building or at least a degree of heavy fettling that turn out so well.

Keep it up and one day perhaps the old Williams Seversky may slide onto your bench to challenge and demonstrate your skills!

All the best, enjoy the beetle!

John

Hi John

I hope you are okay, thanks for your kind word and your very kind donations.  I will be making a start on the T5 sometime soon so will use the rear cockpit section of the Pavla Kit.  The P35 may take a while longer and I will need some foil practice first.  As if I have not got enough to do wit the house and work, I have gone and signed up to a GB and am making a Blackburn Shark, there's not enough hours in a day !!!

I am calling this one finished now and will load into RFI soon.
