Now - Two Pairs of Mittens - Yak-130 - Zvezda 1/48

Recommended Posts

Hi.

I've managed to do some more small work on the Belarussian Mitten.
The intrail have been painted and the fans are in place.

The main wheelbays have been painted and soon I'll add the undercarriage.

The undercarrigage must be mounted before the fuselage sides are glued in place.
Afterwards there isn't that much room to get them in place.
To be continued.....

Hi.

My Belarussian Mitten is now really taking shape.
The nose section is almost done.

And the main landing gears are in place.

And with that, it's time to glued the intrails to the back section.

The plan for the weekend is to marry the two sections together and to glue the wings on.

Hi.

Yet another weekend has passed.
And this weekend wasn't one of the best ones for me.
I had to take my eldest son back to the hospital.
His pancreatitis hasn't heeled yet, and on Sunday his pains got worse.
So back to hospital with him where they pumped him full with morphine.
And as it looks now, we'll be celebrating Christmas at the hospital.

But last friday I glued the front and back sections together on my Belarussian Mitten.

I guess I'll glue the wings on sometime during the holidays.

Looking good, I'm pleased I only do 1/72 when I see the detail in this kit, an excuse to be a bit lazy. ;) I'm keen to see the Belarussian scheme in the flesh, it looks good on the instructions.

Hi.

It's finally time for some primer, and colours on my Belarussian Mitten.
49395734581_3bef7eddaf_k.jpg150 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr

This third Mitten has been a bit of a bother compared with the two I've already built.
The wing in front of the intakes wouldn't set as planned.
So I had to fill some seams with liquid sprue and sand a polish a couple of times before I was satisfied with it.

But now it's done and it's time for some primer, and tomorrow some colours. :yahoo:

Hi.

I'm back in the saddle again.
I think I burned my self out with four Swedish aircrafts in four months in the Nordics GB.
That and the notice that we'll have to evacuate our flat sometime next year for a complete renovation of the building didn't do so well for the mojo.

I'm not going to start any new larger projects until we've moved back into our appartment after the renovation.
But I will try and finished some started builds before I have to pack everything up.

So yesterday evening I sat down at the bench for the first time in a month and did some painting on my Belarussian Mitten.
I've got the "beech forrest" colours on.

It's quite pleasing to work with acrylic paints instead of enamels.
I could to all three colours in one session last evening instead of three sessions with one colour at the time.
This will not dry over the weekend.

We celebrate our National Day here in Sweden tomorrow June 6 and I'm spending the weekend in the cottage continuing on my vegetable garden project.

Unfortunatelly the weather forecast doesn't look that promising for outdoor activities.

Hi.

I can't believe that it took me a full fortnight to finish the top camouflage on the Belarussian Mitten.

But now it's done and I have to say I'm rather pleased with the colours.
But I still got plenty left to do on this one.

Hi. :D

It's been more than six months since I did any work on my Belarussian Mitten.
But this weekend I thought I'll do some work on it.
So two marathon sessions with stencils and decal.

First the missile rails, 2 decal per side.

50736513292_f60fd0a338_k.jpg161 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr

The four S25 rocket pods, 4 decals per pod.

50736503616_f535a7afc9_k.jpg163 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr

The four R73 air to air missiles, 15 decals per missile.
50742099838_df9e143a72_k.jpg164 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr

And then when the ordnance was done I continued with Bort number, national flag and red stars, 8 decals.

50742947422_d89c6048bb_k.jpg166 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr

And all the 28 stencils on the top fuselage.
50742947492_1b58aa628b_k.jpg167 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr

In total 120 decals in place, not bad for two full days work.
I've got around 70 decals left to put on the sides, bottom and pylons.
I might get this finished during Christmas or just before New Year.

I'm pleased this is back, it doesn't look like I missed too much. ;) :D I do like those colours, hopefully there'll be less stencils in 1/72, or at least it won't be so obvious I left them off. <_< Those raised garden thingies look like a good idea, just what I need for my herb garden. :)

Thanks alot Steve. :D

The raised beds were great this summer.

We got about 3 liters of green chilies, and enough parsley and dill to last the winter, and it was quite fun to grow some own vegetables.

I guess come february it's about time to plan next years plants.

Here's an update on my Belarussian Mitten.
During Christmas I got the last stencils inplace.

And for New Years I mounted some powerful rockets in the shape of four S25's

During twelth night holiday we drove to the cottage.
And winter had come to this part of Sweden.
50817370742_2b2abec487_k.jpg172 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr

But winter or not, I like to barbeque when I'm at the cottage.
The first day I did some pork collar that had been marinated over night in a sweet chili marinade.

50817368762_a0fb86a517_k.jpg174 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr

Since we were up in the cottage for two nights one might as well barbeque both evenings.
Day 2 I did some burgers on minced Wagyu beef, that was just seasoned with salt and pepper.

If you've not tasted Wagyu beef I highly recommed it. In my opinion it's the most tastiest beef you can get.

Barbequeing in winter add some small problems to it, if you don't like to have it for lunch.
In the cottage it get's pitch dark around three in the afternoon this time of the year.
So some addtional lighting is in order.
50817275821_c84ebe2962_k.jpg20210108_153615 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr

But despite the darkness I managed to do some real tasty burgers, that was served with fries and onion rings. :tasty: :eat:
50817276261_a4b11a8ec4_k.jpg178 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr

But no weekend last forever, and when we got home I continued working on the Mitten.
Four R-73's Archer was added.

50821148562_1175484dcf_k.jpg180 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr

And with that done it's not soo much left to do on this one, so I guess I'll have it done in a few days time.

Next time Myanmar. :D
