Marlin
Hi. I've managed to do some more small work on the Belarussian Mitten. The intrail have been painted and the fans are in place. 142 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The main wheelbays have been painted and soon I'll add the undercarriage. 143 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The undercarrigage must be mounted before the fuselage sides are glued in place. Afterwards there isn't that much room to get them in place. To be continued..... /Bosse
Marlin
Hi. My Belarussian Mitten is now really taking shape. The nose section is almost done. 144 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And the main landing gears are in place. 145 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And with that, it's time to glued the intrails to the back section. 146 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 147 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The plan for the weekend is to marry the two sections together and to glue the wings on. Marlin
Hi. Yet another weekend has passed. And this weekend wasn't one of the best ones for me. I had to take my eldest son back to the hospital. His pancreatitis hasn't heeled yet, and on Sunday his pains got worse. So back to hospital with him where they pumped him full with morphine. And as it looks now, we'll be celebrating Christmas at the hospital. But last friday I glued the front and back sections together on my Belarussian Mitten. 148 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 149 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I guess I'll glue the wings on sometime during the holidays. stevehnz
Looking good, I'm pleased I only do 1/72 when I see the detail in this kit, an excuse to be a bit lazy. I'm keen to see the Belarussian scheme in the flesh, it looks good on the instructions. Steve.
Marlin
Thanks Steve. I might have some painting done during the holidays. /Bosse
Marlin
Hi. It's finally time for some primer, and colours on my Belarussian Mitten. 150 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr This third Mitten has been a bit of a bother compared with the two I've already built. The wing in front of the intakes wouldn't set as planned. So I had to fill some seams with liquid sprue and sand a polish a couple of times before I was satisfied with it. 151 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr But now it's done and it's time for some primer, and tomorrow some colours. 152 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr To be continued..... /Bosse
Marlin
Hi. The bottom of the Belarussian Mitten has now been painted. 153 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And it's time to turn it over and start doing the top side camouflage. Marlin
Hi. I'm back in the saddle again. I think I burned my self out with four Swedish aircrafts in four months in the Nordics GB. That and the notice that we'll have to evacuate our flat sometime next year for a complete renovation of the building didn't do so well for the mojo. I'm not going to start any new larger projects until we've moved back into our appartment after the renovation. But I will try and finished some started builds before I have to pack everything up. So yesterday evening I sat down at the bench for the first time in a month and did some painting on my Belarussian Mitten. I've got the "beech forrest" colours on. 154 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 155 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 156 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr It's quite pleasing to work with acrylic paints instead of enamels. I could to all three colours in one session last evening instead of three sessions with one colour at the time. This will not dry over the weekend. We celebrate our National Day here in Sweden tomorrow June 6 and I'm spending the weekend in the cottage continuing on my vegetable garden project. 157 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 158 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Unfortunatelly the weather forecast doesn't look that promising for outdoor activities. Marlin
Hi. I can't believe that it took me a full fortnight to finish the top camouflage on the Belarussian Mitten. 159 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr But now it's done and I have to say I'm rather pleased with the colours. But I still got plenty left to do on this one. To be continued..... /Bosse
Marlin
Hi. It's been more than six months since I did any work on my Belarussian Mitten. But this weekend I thought I'll do some work on it. So two marathon sessions with stencils and decal. First the missile rails, 2 decal per side. 160 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 161 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The four S25 rocket pods, 4 decals per pod. 162 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 163 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The four R73 air to air missiles, 15 decals per missile. 164 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And then when the ordnance was done I continued with Bort number, national flag and red stars, 8 decals. 165 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 166 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And all the 28 stencils on the top fuselage. 167 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr In total 120 decals in place, not bad for two full days work. I've got around 70 decals left to put on the sides, bottom and pylons. I might get this finished during Christmas or just before New Year. stevehnz
I'm pleased this is back, it doesn't look like I missed too much. I do like those colours, hopefully there'll be less stencils in 1/72, or at least it won't be so obvious I left them off. Those raised garden thingies look like a good idea, just what I need for my herb garden. Steve.
Marlin
Thanks alot Steve. The raised beds were great this summer. We got about 3 liters of green chilies, and enough parsley and dill to last the winter, and it was quite fun to grow some own vegetables. I guess come february it's about time to plan next years plants. /Bosse
Marlin
Hi. Here's an update on my Belarussian Mitten. During Christmas I got the last stencils inplace. 168 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 169 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And for New Years I mounted some powerful rockets in the shape of four S25's 170 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 171 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr During twelth night holiday we drove to the cottage. And winter had come to this part of Sweden. 172 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr But winter or not, I like to barbeque when I'm at the cottage. The first day I did some pork collar that had been marinated over night in a sweet chili marinade. 173 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 174 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Since we were up in the cottage for two nights one might as well barbeque both evenings. Day 2 I did some burgers on minced Wagyu beef, that was just seasoned with salt and pepper. 175 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 176 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr If you've not tasted Wagyu beef I highly recommed it. In my opinion it's the most tastiest beef you can get. Barbequeing in winter add some small problems to it, if you don't like to have it for lunch. In the cottage it get's pitch dark around three in the afternoon this time of the year. So some addtional lighting is in order. 20210108_153615 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr But despite the darkness I managed to do some real tasty burgers, that was served with fries and onion rings. 178 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr But no weekend last forever, and when we got home I continued working on the Mitten. Four R-73's Archer was added. 179 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 180 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And with that done it's not soo much left to do on this one, so I guess I'll have it done in a few days time. To be continued..... /Bosse
Marlin
Hi. The first completed build of 2021. I finished my Belarussian Mitten today. 181 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 182 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 183 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 184 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 185 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 186 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr 187 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I'll have to clear my modelling desk with some other builds, but I'll return to this thread with the fourth Mitten. Next time Myanmar. To be continued..... /Bosse
