Popular Post tonyot
Hiya Folks, Ever since I found a photo of this particular Beaufighter Mk.II, which was used for Fleet Requirements duties by 797 Naval Air Squadron at Columbo, Ceylon in 1945, I have wanted to make a model of it and finally here it is, by converting the Airfix kit using the new Alley Cat resin conversion. Here is the real aircraft following its sad demise,..... note that it has been retrofitted with the later dihedral `V' tailplane rather than the original flat style (see WIP); Here is the WIP; And here is the model, which was painted using a Tamiya rattle can with the decals coming from the spares box,..... the black outlined yellow codes coming from a Luftwaffe codes sheet; Cheers Tony 83

stevehnz
Brilliant Tony, that really does look the goods. You've even made a silver finish look interesting, that gets a double 👍 👍. Steve.
Meatbox8
Looks great. One doesn't see too many MkIIs. No idea the Navy used them for anything. Those Tamiya rattle cans really are good, giving an excellent metallic look. Where on Earth did you find those unit codes though?

Gazontipede
Sweet. I must admit to a heretical opinion that Merlin Beaus look better than the Hercules birds. Indeed, I find the Mk.V (?) with its BP four gun turret quite a fascinating looking beast too. Yes, I obviously need help.
SimonL
That’s spectacular! Very attractive scheme, and the Merlin’s do give it a very different look.

72modeler
Boy, oh boy, oh boy! I sure do like this one, Tony! Love the overall silver and the blue spinners really set it off! I just snagged a resin set of flat tailplanes for the Airfix kit by AML, so I am good to go- now I just need to get off my bum and get started! 85sqn
That, Mr Tony o'Toole is a very tasty piece of work! Good stuff. I have a resin CMK conversion for the Tamiya Beau to do at some point as a FAA bird. You've whetted my appetite to get it out of the stash.

Jon Kunac-Tabinor
Tony - every time you pull another obscurely marked aircraft from the annals of the FAA or RAF I always love the result. Top effort as ever. Cheers Jonners
