1/72nd H Hobby (Hasegawa plastic) Hurricane MkI, 303 (Polish) Sqn, Battle of Britain 1940.

Hiya Folks,

                Until the arrival of the new Arma Model kit, the Hasegawa Hurricane was probably one of the best on the market although the rear fuselage stringers did let it down! With filler applied to the rear fuselage, here is one that I have just finished, with the Rotol blunt spinner from the Arma kit fitted.

As usual it was brush painted;

As always from Tony ... excellent models.

I must say the Arma Model kit looks good.  I might get something for the ever-growing stash!

Wow,..... thanks everybody,...... glad you like it. The old Hasegawa kit is still worth building,..... but the new Arma kit is wonderful,.... I do hope that they extend their range to do the Mk.II`s as well,

Cheers

Great looking Hurricanes and top marks for sheer ambition, filling that exaggerated stringer effect on the Hasegawa kit!

That said, the aft fuselage of RF•F looks just a little bit strange to my eyes. A bit like a lady that has over-applied foundation to her face, if you will. Even in very soft overcast light, some of that stringer pattern will show on photos of full size Hurricanes. So, I'm on the fence a bit, especially since the hatch under the letter 'R' on the port side does show a bit of stringer…

Your brushwork is second to none. My brushes absolutely refuse to produce anything approaching your smooth finish… 😉

Nice modelling, Tony!

Kind regards,

Joachim

Question, is that swastika marking a decal, is it going the wrong direction...just asking.

However,...... they did miss off the unit insignia on the decals,.......so I am adding that now!
