Be good to see you back in the water, any thoughts as to what you're bringing?

Yes ,a little steamer it's a small Heller kit,of course I'll be attempting to rig and detail it a little

Only measuring about 145mm , and it'll be under a vicious  attack by a kraken in a little dio, hopfully i can keep the whole thing around 160mm in surface area but  maybe 200 mm or so deep

I'm looking at clear resin atm and some modelling material to create the kraken from, maybe if I'm feeling confidently adventurous some  l e d 's , should make a start end of the week, your exalted company will be most welcome

Yes ,It was in @Martian Hale 's thread here recently i think it was @TheBaron who posted a picture in his thread of a little boat with a giant  octopus's tentacles sinking the boat, i had the idea for a small  dio  for this or a "war of the worlds" scene in the back of my head for a bit and this caused a stirring ,and so it begins

'Enjoying' is an understatement, Kev.  Personally, I'm in awe of your weathering/aging techniques and attention to detail, & at such a small scale too. :worthy:

The secret IS the scale . . . .

While the question is in my head, how did you build up the 'water' around the hull without getting it on the hull?

Nice detail work, very effective.

Every inch of the way Kev. The scenes you create are amazing and really set off the main subject.

I'm really amazed and chuffed how you lot have got behind this project

Tin foil wrapped tightly around the hull. The hull was screwed to the base from underneath  Once the acrylic structure gel had set I removed the hull from the tin foil and them the tin foil. HTH

Thanks again for all your support which makes me want to achieve more . . .

This has been something of a masterclass in Diorama building, but then all your builds are.

Gidday Kev, absolutely stunning. In particular, for me is the rusty hull and worn fenders. And the wake caused by the tide, I haven't seen that done in a model before. Are you adding berthing lines from tug to jetty? Regards, Jeff.

@ArnoldAmbrose as requested. Just laid in place to get a feel for how they are going to work.

We have bow & stern lines plus two springs (the two that cross in the middle)

A view of the bollards. Not sure if I'm happy with the lay of the springs

P1100113 (Copy)

Superstructure sprayed, happy with the colour but not with the boiler room vents, They will have to be redone

P1100114 (Copy)

Mooring lines needs to be dirtier

Thanks for looking in
