I've been working on a timber warehouse as a back drop to the jetty . .

Frame

Biggest problem encountered at this scale was window frame size and consistent squares

Early attempt

:hmmm:Thread

The answer was draw the frame at x10 actual size and then reduce it on a copier. The frame area was waxed and stuck to the back of the frame. I used  0.3mm square plastic

After the pieces were set the waxed paper was gently removed and we take another step forward . . .

and propped in position

Another step closer to roughing out the dio ...........

Thanks for looking in

Kev

Sorry, bit baffled... The window frames (i.e. what the glass panes would be puttied into in) are made of thread?

If so, are they firmed up with something such as CA?

Sorry I confused you. The thread was a way of forming the frames as it was easy to line up to a template and yes it was strengthened with CA. . As it turned out I wasn't happy with the texture.

Thanks for the support one and all.

Feeling much better thanks Richard

Luv the well worn look on the hull. Kev.   In the photos, she looks like she's had a hard life.

The jetty uprights look they've be bleached by the sun.  I hear the UK gets some sun from time to time. :D  Maybe some dark (water & oil) staining on the the uprights, & green & oil coloured waterline scum should do the trick.
