Not sure I can get the parakeet in I'm puzzled . . . these were emergency war builds to a simplified design except the lower half of the superstructure is inclined in. Some corners are rounded . Access ladders are recessed. Life would be so much easier if Inclined sides First step was to form a recess in the vertical sides to accept steps Then form the recess in the soon to be inclined side First section fitted, note the batten on the lower structure Inclined sides in place Steps fitted Next job is to repeat on other side Thanks for stopping by Kev

longshanks
Looks like were going open though I think I detect a hint of mischief in the above replies. This will also define the era to be portrayed, i.e. earlier in her life. Currently fighting with forward structure. Forth attempt so far, either looks like a garden shed or a pile of Kev

longshanks
Finally managed to beat the forward part of the accommodation into shape. The port door gives access to the crew space, the stb. door is a deck locker. Thanks for looking in Kev
stevehnz
Looking good but I'm concerned for the crew, their space seems about as big as a dunny, or did the door lead to a companion way to below decks? Steve.
longshanks
No need to be concerned Steve, the door did lead to a ladder down to the crew space. You can call the union off 🙂 Kev 1

longshanks
@Mancunian airman Some time back you mention you would like to build a model of MSC Arrow as your Dad served on her. Quite by chance a came across a set of plans for the MSC Archer, I've no idea how it clicked in my addled brain (I blame it on BM). On further investigation it would appear she's a sister ship to MSC Arrow. The plans are 1:50 scale meaning the model would turn out at 1.72 feet long (524mm) of course the plans could be resized to what ever you fancied. They were free with one of the model boat mags. The lines are on the reverse. If you were to build her waterline it would be a simple build. This was recently on ebay - unsold. might be worth contactin https://picclick.co.uk/A-Model-Boat-Plan-Archer-Traditional-Steam-153199711735.html Failing that I have a copy which could scan HTH Kev 3
