P-47D Iranian Air Force Tamiya 1/48

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Here is my last model, an Imperial Iranian Air Force P-47D from Tamiya at 1/48 scale.

I used  Vallejo Metal Color for the aluminium finish. For the roundels, I used Montex masks and Persan numbers are home made masks. Weathering is done with oil paints and powders for the wings.

It was interesting to build such an exotic livery.

I hope you like my Thunderbolt and thank you to Reini78 who built the same, two years ago.

Very nicely done. Nice subtle weathering too.

Looks realistic which is always my measure of a good model.

Well done.

Excellent, nice work on the NMF & weathering. Can't recall seeing a P-47 in that scheme before.

Striking build of a scheme I, too, had never seen before. The close-up with the dropped flap highlights the exquisite workmanship. A real delight!

Now that is just gorgeous! The only thing it lacks are the subtle lines of rivets, like with Eduard kits nowadays. That is one big disadvantage of Tamiya wunderkits from the 90s and even newest ones like Spitfire.

Iranian F-84Gs were also splendid looking.

My next F-84G will be a Norwegian one, they are great looking to.

I will think of the rivet lives ira I build another one.

And thank you to for these nice words 😊

what  a convincing T-Bolt - the NMF looks top notch. And nice to see one in a different livery.

Cheers,

What all the others have said goes double for me. Probably the only IIAF Jug we will ever see in our lifetime!
