I’ve got an SU-34 in the stash just itching to be built. I want to do it in the 3 shades of blue scheme.

 

As Bolton Show is this weekend I thought I’d take the opportunity to get some paint because I DON’T NEED ANY MORE KITS.

Which paint manufacturer does the closest blues and what are the codes? I don’t need a set that contains half a dozen different paints including black, white and red.

 

*unless I can find a Dragon Gloster Meteor for a reasonable price.

AKAN is almost certainly your best bet. They sell paint sets, but each set lists the individual bottles which (at least in the USA) can also be purchased separately.

You can also buy separate colors. The 10 ml pain bottles are quite small, so I suggest to buy 2 bottles of each needed color for as big subject as Su-34.

 

The pigments of AKAN paint come from Finnish paint manufacturer Tikkurila.

I personally prefer acrylic ones. Do not dilute more with than 10% of water or AKAN acrylic thinner.

Martin at Coastal Craft distributed this range but I think he no longer carries them. Your best bet might be Peter at MAN models with the Hataka range. Perhaps a call to him to avoid disappointment. hth cheers Chris
