fgab18
This is my last work from year 2018, a Russian Il-2, from Tamiya, in 1/72 scale. It was a pretty easy built, used some photo eched parts and canopy mask from Eduard, and Mr. Color. Edited January 14, 2019 by fgab18

Duckwizard
Looks better than my 1/48. Very nice build.
Kilroy1988
Wonderful! That's very inspiring detail painting. I'd have a hard time believing it could be 1/72 scale if you hadn't said so!
Kitchen Modeller
Very nice - love the paint job, the faded effects and weathering - would love to see an underside shot though!
Stefanoff
Excellent buit! Ecpecially the painting, fading and weathering. Definetelly out of the scale. But you have one major mistake - the antenna mast is on wrong place: In this way the pilots canopy can't be opened. The mast have to be backwards: I'm currious to see the weathering underneath. Can you show it?! Edited January 15, 2019 by Stefanoff 2
Stefanoff
Your camouflage depicts an Il-2 from the Berlin final operation, one of these: Here is also clear visible the mast position. Edited January 15, 2019 by Stefanoff

Hairtrigger
Great result. I have the Zveda version in my stash I guess though the Tamiya is better. Love the tones you have achieved. 😁

Thanks for the comment, you were right, the mast is in a wrong position, it was a really silly mistake. I noticed and realized the failure only in the final weathering steps and frankly wasn't brave enough to repair it 😕 Edited January 16, 2019 by fgab18
RidgeRunner
A very nice build of a classic Soviet WW2 machine. Nice! Martin

Unfortunately the plane can't be removed from the stand, after it's been fixed to it, but here's the only available under surface work in progress photo (before panel line wash and weathering). Next time I won't forget to make some under side photos as well. BTW this is next project (Eduard 1/72 Mig-15), and try to keep in mind the under side photos
