Phone Phixer
My latest build is this special version of the CF18 for last years Canada 150 celebrations. The kit builds well into a good representation of the aircraft. The only bit to be aware of is where the upper fuselage meets with the nose, forward of the windscreen. Some of the Kinetic instructions are a bit vague for the location of some parts. The decals are a major job in themselves, but go down well with some Micro sol/set. All comments welcome. Thanks Rob. 31

AeroNautique
Awesome....one of my all-time favourite fast-jet schemes, it looks spectacular! The extra labour involving the decals certainly paid off, well done. Incidentally, I have the Kinetic Bue Angels boxing, but wondering if I can acquire the 2017 Demo decals so I can build this kit. Shin
Looks great! I have one in my stash. May I ask, did you use the decals for the while "stripe" running along both sides of the fuselage, or mask and paint?

I knew I would not get as good an edge between the colours if painting, so I wanted to use the decals. But..... I was unsure if the red and grey would show through the white decals (it does slightly). So I painted it white, then used the masking templates printed in the instructions to then do the red and grey. Finally, I applied the white stripe decals to get a good edge finish. A word of warning though, the masking templates are too small, when you compare them to the decals! Hope that helps. Rob.

I did a 1/72 version with Fishbone decals, masked off the white part and it worked out OK. You're right, decals would help with the edges and symmetry. Honestly it might end up coming down to how lazy I am when I get to that point hah, especially if the bleed through is only slight. Thanks!
