belcherbits
I'm looking for information (ideally, drawings, but good photos as well) of the RAF Type D bomb trolley. There were a bewildering variety of bomb trolleys used, and its kind of like hitting a moving target. I know there were at least four marks of the Type C trolley, and I suspect there were several marks of the Type D as well. The Type D was typically seen carrying the 4000 lb cookie. The main chassis was narrower than the wheel track. I have seen photos where the rear axle was a simple tube passing through the main chassis member. I have also seen where the axle was held out from the main chassis by two leaf springs. There were no doubt variations in the front end as well. I understand there were manuals for these. Anybody have them? Please contact me at [email protected]. Help a new project come to life! Thanks in advance. Mike Belcher

Mancunian airman
I am just about to embark on the construction of 3 x Type D trolleys for my 32nd scale Lancaster. I have some AP details on a disc and I have scaled up some drawings . . . . Selwyn may have the photos of actual trolleys?? I'm just finishing my 32nd engine trestles as well
