Dave_R
Hi All, I'll be building the old Airfix Seafire, in the markings of 800 NAS on HMS Triumph. I made a small start on this last year - but didn't get very far with it, it's under 25% complete. Once all that PE has been added to the cockpit it should be straight forward. Grey Beema
Watching on how you get on with this as I have two in the stash... You might also want to have a look at @corsaircorp recent Seafire 17 build..
corsaircorp
Hello Dave, Good idea ! it's a good kit, just be carefull about the one you choose if you make that one, change the serial or add some bulges on the wings !! All the infos are on the WiP here above, these are not mine but it's a brainstorming ! BM is the right place for finding tips and infos !! Luckily, everything for changing the sarial is on the original decal sheet ! Have a great modelling time with this kit ! Hope that I did'nt disturb ! Sincerely. Col.
Sure you'll have fun with this one Dave as it is a nice kit. Of course I may be slightly biased due to liking the Seafire as a subject but will be watching your progress
Dave_R
Hi All, I've been neglecting this one while I've been doing those tank things. But I'm about ready to call the cockpit done and put the fuselage halves together. A montage of the inside bits:- So all I've got to do is put the above bits together and I can move on. Col.
That's looking great Dave. How did you do the intrument dials and cockpit placards?
Dave_R
Hi Col., The Instrument panel and other cockpit details are from Eduard PE set. I haven't used all of the PE as some bits are so small and delicate. Dave. Edited February 19, 2019 by Dave_R
Dave_R
Hi All It went together fairly easily, but it needs a fair bit of filler around the wing root. Dave.
Col.
It certainly looks as if you've got everything together well and heading for a smooth base for your paintwork Dave
Dave_R
Hi All, I think it's time for an update - although the painting stage is far from finished it is progressing. I've drilled out the exhausts as they looked a bit weird solid. So all details and tidying up still to do, but it's getting there. Dave.
