CliffB
Hi all. My entry will be a Tamiya 1/100 scale MiG-15, taken from this 'dogfight double' boxing. The kit includes two dogfight decal options: North Korea v US China v Taiwan Unfortunately there's no Soviet option, so I've had to find something suitable for myself. To be honest, I struggled to find online images of European theatre Soviet Mig-15s (it all seems to be Korean War stuff). Eventually though, I found some artwork from the HpH 1/32 scale kit, which shows 'Red 27' based at Kubinka AFB in 1952. Just the job! See you soon. Col.
Loving the kit choice Cliff. Yet again you've found one I didn't know existed.
CliffB
Some progress today (even though I really ought to have been getting on with my KUTA Vautour, which was left over from the 60s NATO GB ). Starting a new build is much more fun though! Here's the sprue shot. The sprue says 1971 and probably this particular kit is similar. The parts are nicely moulded, with fine raised panel lines (except for the control surfaces which are recessed). I'm planning to use the Sabre from this boxing (with the kit's Taiwanese decal option), in this year's Sharks Mouth GB. The decals are just about OK, but hopefully I can use some sun-bleaching to improve the yellowing. Back to the MiG and its very basic cockpit was soon painted and some bits of old air-rifle pellets added as nose weight. Main bits assembled next. No dramas. This is going to be a fun little kit! I'll wait for everything to set properly before I tidy up the joints. See you soon! Cliff
Col.
Even for a fairly simple kit you're making rapid progress Cliff.

Watch out for it in Shark Teeth one though Cheers Cliff

A month's gone by and virtually nothing has happened (apart from a Catalina). So it's time to push on with the Miglet (copyright Col 2019 ). Ready for some paint tomorrow........ CliffB
Thanks Col. Here's where we are today - two coats of primer, some contrasting shades of Alclad on a few bits and dark green (or so Tamiya say?) for the wing walkways. Masking and o/a aluminium tomorrow. Possibly even decals and finishing touches too - it really depends what other jobs come my way . Cheers Cliff
CliffB
and it's finished The decals came from my spares box (they're originally from a 1/100 Ben Hobby Il-28). The stars are OK, but the numbers are a bit heavy really. Still, I was pleased to find some stickers that actually fitted. I'll put some more photos in the Gallery shortly, but in the meantime thanks for your support along the way (especially to Col for being a super-attentive host - as always), and to Enzo for keeping everything organised .
