MisterCraft Yak-23...terrible kit, glad to be done.  I have a better kit coming and will build that in penance...

Awful decals, terrible plastic, inaccurate instructions. Typical MisterCraft.

You only get two pictures because that is all it's worth!

Meteor F8 , WK803,   56 squadron  RAF Waterbeach 1953

Built from the Airfix 1/48th kit, painted in Tamiya AS12 with decals sourced from a Classic airframes kit and a light Flory wash to finish off.

Some fit issues with the intakes and especially nose, but on the whole a nice kit I would recommend :)

Would have been kept clean as it was used on the Queens coronation flypast.

Finished a while back, but first time me and the weather have coincided for picture taking 🤣

Supermarine Spitfire Mk.22 PK651, 602 Sqn. RAF, 1951

From the Airfix 72nd scale kit using a Pavla seat, Alclad's Semi-matt Aluminium, and a mix of kit and Modeldecal stickers.

PK651 was officially the last Spitfire in service with 602 squadron as they transitioned into the 'jet-age' with the Dh Vampire and was the end of their association with the type that had began during 1938 when their first Mk.1 were delivered.

"MERSU"

Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-2/R1

HLeLv 11, Ilmavoimat, Pori 1946

Build thread here

AZmodel 1:72 G-several variants kit

InScale 72 decalbash

Eduard steel photoetch seat belts

Humbrol enamel paints brushed on

Tamiya rattle can flat varnish on top

MT-230 was one of the very few Mersus that received the full olive green-black-light blue "Finnish warpaint" during the continuation war.

Mercedes-Benz cars have traditionally been called "Mersu" in Finland, even before the wars. It was quite natural that Messerschmitts, arriving in 1943, got the same shorter and more "pronouncable" name.

Thanks to Col. and Enzo Matrix for the GB 🙂.

German Navy optionand I'm glad  now it did as we don't see this scheme too often.

I have redeemed myself!  Here is my Yak-23 'Flora', from the Bulgarian Army Air Force, sometime in the 1950s...the WiP is here:

This has been a lovely little kit and Special Hobby deserves a tip of the hat for even putting this one out.  I think there are two other kits of other variants, including a trainer.  Colours were all Vallejo and Vallejo Air.  Radio and grounding wires are EZLine...Hmmm...no issue with this kit and I recommend it to anyone interested in very early jets, Cold War jets or anything of that sort.  I have weathered with some exhaust tint (grey and smoke) and pin-washing.  Straight OOB.  Any errors are mine and mine alone!  😉

Hawker's Last and First

Hawker's final, and possibly one of the finest ever, naval piston engined fighter, the Sea Fury and their first naval jet fighter the Sea Hawk.

Sea Fury from Trumpeter, finished as one of 1831 NAS's based at Stretton in the early 1950's

Sea Fury from Hobbyboss, 806 NAS on HMS Albion in 1959. Not just the transition from piston to jet but spanning the decade, and the change from Extra Dark Sea Grey/Sky to Extra Dark Sea Grey/White.

Both 1:72 and brush painted with Xtracrylix, the white being Citadel Ceramite White glossed up with Kleer.
