Here we have Heller's very neat little F84-G Thunderjet, representing the 331st Squadron of the Norwegian Air Force, 1957.  I am very happy with this build and it gave me no issues.  Aside from the cockpit , the air brakes and some of the undercarriage it is straight out of the box, including the decals.  They went on ok, but were a little stiff and needed a fair amount of solvent to get them down, especially on the compound curves.  The paints are Vallejo and Vallejo Air except for a bit here and there which are rattle can from Humbrol--OD anti-glare. aluminum for the fuel pods, a dusting of silver over the aluminum fuselage.  So you know, I have ordered another one of these kits from the Big Auction site because I would like to build an F84-G from the Hellenic Air Force.  I probably won't include it in this GB, however.

Thanks for looking!

This gallery is beginning to look really nice.  Love the Turkish Streak!  Here is my next one...Airfix' 1/72nd Me 262 as a post-war, Czech-built Avia S-92.  This specific aircraft was attached to the anti-aircraft group in Olomuoc, Moravia around 1957 or so.  As a kit, it went together well, very tightly in some spots, perhaps a bit too tightly.  And in other places it needed some putty but that may have been my fault.  It is a nice kit, though, and as a new mould goes, very good indeed with excellent detail, no flash and quality plastic.  Certain pieces are designed in such a way that it is impossible to assemble them incorrectly, which I liked.  The paints are mostly Vallejo Air and Vallejo and I used their RLM02 for the basic colour.  Decals are Xtradecal (superb!) from the Big Yellow Store and come with many options, mostly German, but the Czech and American versions stand out.

Here it is...

Here is my Zvezda/ Dragon Mig-15, circa 1950s sometime, Albania...the rest is lost to Albanian Communist history.  I enjoy building Migs and I enjoyed this one but I am happy it is over.  There was a surprising amount of detail where it was not needed and a great deal left out that could have made it a better model.  I didn't have the get-up-and-go to fix any of it so this is, aside from the BlueRider Decals, OOB.  Paints are all Vallejo Air.  The NMF was a thin coat of White Aluminum over the Vallejo Primer (which is very light coloured) and then an even thinner  coat of Gunmetal Silver to darken it up.  It also had the effect of shining it up some, which is nice.  The decals, even after all these years, worked very well and reacted well with a fair amount of MicroSol.  The stencil decals and walkway decals are all from the kit, for which I a grateful.  It would have looked awfully bare without them.  Enough blather...onward an upward, and onto an Eduard!  Thank the gods...

Hello everyone... I present to you my Republic Thunderstreak. 92nd F.I.S., 81st T.F.W.. Stationed at R.A.F. Manston, Shepherds grove, & Bentwaters in 1955. I opted to load the Mk.7 “Device” on the inboard port station. This was a one way Nuclear strike unit or Tactical support/air-to-air. Without further talk i present the model.

You can see in the 4th photo that the pilot is sitting on the mat. I will add him once the canopy is dry and locked in place. Please post any questions, comments, or jokes in my build log. Id like to thank the @Col. and the other host(s) for an enjoyable build. Thats two builds and two unicorn aircraft off my list Col.

Hi Chaps

Here are a couple of pictures of my Dassault Mystere IV as seen at the Paris air show in 1959. Based on the 1/48 scale Hi-tech multi media kit with main parts injected plastic and other details cast in resin.

Eduard's Mig-15bis from the Quattro Box O'Migs...Hungary during the bad years.  'Red 906...'  Piece of cake this one.  All the paints are Vallejo.  Decals were a dream. Can't wait to build more and more and more.  I have a MIg-21 in the stash that is just screaming to be built...

Airfix F-86D Sabre Dog, 406th FIW, RAF Manston or Bentwaters (depends on whether you read the box or instructions!); It builds up well for an old kit. My apologies for the photos, I moved location to try to get better light.
