Duckwizard
My latest build is an I-16 Type 24 from Eduard in 1/48 scale ("Profipack", so some PE-parts are provided, most of which will never see the light of sun again), airbrushed with Hataka acryl, weathered with oil colours. I used cable end sleeves and cannulas für the wing-mg's, pitot tube, prop hub and exhausts. The base is a cut out (with a band saw) piece of an old chopping board (teak wood, made in the Philippines, a present for our marriage in 1979 afaik) and a masked and airbrushed soviet star (new and not from the Philippines). Except the gap on the bottom between fuse and wing all parts fit nicely. The retracts almost drove me crazy (good that something or someone did that before, so no chance for this kit). Maybe I should have bought the metal aftermarket gear. Hope you like it, thanks a lot for looking. Edited January 10, 2019 by Duckwizard fixed one (!) typo ;)

Dazey
Hi Michael, Beautifully finished and displayed. Great subject. Did you paint the metal strip around the cowling, or did you use foil or similar? It looks just right Regards, David
