John Aero
It's with great personal sadness that I have just heard of Richard Riding's passing. Richard was the founding editor of the revived Aeroplane Monthly back in the early seventies. It'a magazine I have taken since number 1 and I still subscribe. Both he and his late father Eddie Riding, via the wartime and post-war Aeromodeller magazine, were a great influence on my aviation and personal modelling interests. Richard published many of his fathers pre-war photographs of mainly light aircraft which still delight me. Blue Skies. John 1

Dave Fleming
Sad news, especially at what is a relatively young age these days. His book on British Ultralights was a great example of a niche subject well presented
viscount806x
Just caught up with this. I have Aeroplane from Vol 1 to about 2011 when I gave up on it as it had morphed into more of a 'coffee table' magazine. Mr Riding had retired from it by this time so his great influence was obviously doing the business during his tenure. A sad loss to the aviation scene.
