Hello from North Oxfordshire

After seeing what wonderful work everyone produces here I thought I'd sign up and say hi to everyone. 

I'm getting back into model making after a break of several years from it, inspired by a Christmas present of a 1:72 Tucano from my girlfriend. (To which I immediately ordered resin parts for!) 

I dug out all of my tools and array of unfinished kits and set about organising them all and my workspace. 

I originally made planes first, then moved onto cars but I can't put my finger on what it was that made me give up on modelling. (Teenage socialising perhaps?) Another reason is that my dad sadly passed away in the autumn which has given me more perspective on life and made me realise the importance of taking time for oneself in a meditative way. 

I forgot how much I enjoyed it! 

I'm a bespoke furniture maker for my day job and a keen amateur racing cyclist (2nd cat roadie with eyes on a 1st cat licence) 

I look forward to seeing all the great things everyone is making and learning new techniques

Hello Jered ...  to the Forum from the USA. Im sorry for your loss and agree it does help focus your life. I believe a good number of modelers are torn away. Both because of teenage socializing and life in general. Most of us here left at some point and came back.
