Col.
Another one for the 2019 kit wishlist. This is looking to be an expensive year already
Trenton guy
Brilliant! Amazing that an accurate modern tooling of this important aircraft took so long. I recognize that calling it accurate at this early date is something of an act of faith, but at this point I feel Airfix is entitled to that bit of confidence. Surely will be better than combining an AZ fuselage with Dragon wings to come even close. Watch that wingspan and sweep angle Airfix!
ho590hm
Does this explain the earlier mention of a visit to the Museum of Flight in Seattle, perhaps?
John
My favourite MiG. I'll get through a few of these. As I said over in the big thread, no doubt a Dogfight Double with the Skyhawk is in prospect for 2020. John
Wez
I'm really pleased to see this, a widely used Cold War jet that comes in a plethora of colour schemes, nice one Airfix!
VMA131Marine
Very nice! It looks to be basically accurate, unlike the MiG-15 from 10 years ago or so. Hopefully they will tool it to accommodate the radar equipped PF as well.
Meatbox8
Completely missed this one. Scrolling through in my haste to see if it was really true about the Buccaneer 😍 I just thought it was a re-release of the MiG 15. I wonder if this is the start of a new range of Cold War Soviet types.
Max Headroom
I’m interested in this! Especially this scheme.... https://goo.gl/images/GWg4sx I just hope its more accurate than their MiG-15 though. Trevor

John I was thinking that it would make a great DD with the F-4C/D that Airfix will be releasing next year! * *pure speculation and wishful thinking on my part! 2
Silverkite
I can finally start my Area88 diorama project then Now I only need to find any info about Bears with top/bottom fuselage mounted MGs Luigi
Vultures1
Well, I wasn't expecting that but am delighted/full of hopeful anticipation. Nice choice Airfix!

Dennis_C
MiG-17 is definitely one I'm buying to accompany my USAF Vietnam collection:) Great choice, Airfix! Edited January 7, 2019 by Dennis_C

Phas3e
Was thinking about a MiG 17 or early 21 for a Vietnam duo, this has made my mind up for me.

Ryan Hothersall
This is great news. The MiG-17F was widely used, but the rarest variant kit wise. Great to see Airfix doing their bit to fix that problem. And maybe in the years to come they will release parts to make the Lim-6 modification with extra wing pylons and brake chute operated by Poland, East Germany etc. So I can now build this Polish MiG-17F I saw in New Zealand.

Unfortunately I can't see Airfix doing a Lim-6 version, but hopefully someone will do a few resin bits for the kit to convert it. 1
dalea
Fingers crossed it will be accurate. Airfix's previous excursions to Eastern Europe have been undewhetming.

Yes, please, I would like the Polish fighter-bomber version with the large tail chute housing too!
Kevin Callahan
Well, at least it is something new in 1:72. Soviet aircraft do nothing for me, but this is one that has been requested quite a bit by more interested modellers. So I'm happy for them at least. 5
Stew Dapple
I've just pre-ordered one, I quite like the look of some of the Arab air force desert camouflaged aircraft... Cheers, Stew
