Regarding follow up boxings, I starting to wonder given the limited load in the RN S2C if we may see an S2D with  Martel's for the late 70s/ early 80s RAF and RN, then probably a late RAF 80's/ early 90fit for LGBs with Gulf War and post war grey scheme. I'm wondering if they will do a SAAF version as a separate boxing ?

maybe see an Ark Royal Gift Set boxing with the Phantom and Bucc

It would make an interesting gift set perhaps do a printed area of deck park as a base so you can pose them together folder and parked or unfolded and being made ready.

I can't see them adding a Wessex, Seaking or Gannet as the two kits would put it to the £50 mark ! so I think they would hold at that.

With the arrival of the new 1/72 Scale Airfix HS Buccaneer, Air-Graphics are pleased to announce the release very shortly of a number of detail sets designed around the kit.
Thank you Airfix for the help in preparation of these sets.
Other sets are also planned including detailed undercarriage bays, undercarriage legs and maybe a wing fold set if enough requests.

Nice to see these Air Graphics sets appearing, especially those for the cockpit, wheels and seats, all much needed.....not sure about the seamless intakes though, the way they've been moulded makes painting a breeze, (much like the Victor).

The reshaped wing tips were fitted to improve the cruising range of the S.2  but apparently the RAF preferred the low-level S.1 'short' style and so several aircraft retained them (some temporarily and a few, long-term).

Thanks for the info General. Doubtless I would never have noticed the difference had it not come to light here!  I fancy that Air Graphics cockpit set to help me on a long standing plan to build an S.1 from the old Airfix tooling.  To say the cockpit of the kit is basic is a bit of an understatement.  No doubt there were differences between the S.1 and S.2 cockpits but they're probably small enough for me to live with.

Just got mine from Amazingstoke. And it’s straight to the work bench this evening.

Now, here is a true scale modeller. Not like us who keep pile kit after kit and never finish one!

Looking forward to see your build Rick.👍

Cheers

RAF variant please!!!

Quite right!

The service that used it for longest.

The service that used it in greatest numbers.

The service which took it to war.

RAF version should've been first!

Wouldn’t have had it at all were it not for the RN.
