Teuchter
Great work. I remember looking at these beasts in the old William Green book and wondering what sort of view the pilots had in that nose. Don 1

As to the view - the greenhouse is not for the pilots but for the observers, these boats were on maritime patrol missions. So the view in most cases was pretty boring - water, water everywhere nor any drop to drink
Teuchter
Alexey Warplanes of the Second World War - Flying Boats https://www.abebooks.co.uk/servlet/BookDetailsPL?bi=31005163657&searchurl=an%3Dgreen%26sortby%3D17%26tn%3Dflying%2Bboats&cm_sp=snippet-_-srp1-_-title2 One of the few sets of references to be had back in the 1960s. I meant the view the pilots would have for landing. Don Edited December 3, 2021 by Teuchter

Pin
Such projects end abruptly. At some point one just realises that there is nothing left to add, fix or redo Although it is not full truth, I want to redo the tall stand, the front pillar cracked when I drilled. And the final pics, of course 10
Pin
Alles! It took me just about 3 years to complete. As usual, there is a lot of things that are not quite correct or I would do differently if I would ever build this kit again ... that is not happening, of course. 11

JOCKNEY
Hi Alexey The finished aircraft is amazing, congratulations As I have the same kit in the stash, please don't delete any of those extra bits you designed and built as I might have to ask you for a price to make me up a set Cheers Pat

kev67
As a vac-form modeller my self, this is an excellent build, considering that it is a very rare and hard to find kit, the detail and overall finish is extremely good on such a huge model, how was the aircraft put on land, did it have wheeled dolly's that could be attached similar to the Sunderland.
