Popular Post CJP
FM Models 1/48 Breguet Alize I commenced the build in March 2018 and have just completed it - as I said in the WIP it is an older limited run kit so you need to be prepared to put a bit of work into it to get a nice model but saying that it is the only 1/48 Alize available although pretty hard to find one now.. I have always found the Alize an interesting aircraft and this kit sat in my stash for years until I saw an excellent build by Mssr Gaudart on a French website Master194.com - unfortunately the build has disappeared from that website which is a shame as it had a lot of useful reference photos as well as informative build of his model. I did a lot of modifications to the kit and scratch built the wing fold rather than use the resin wing folds that came with the kit - all detailed in the WIP. BERNA decals were used to finish her as number 17 of Flottille 4F in the type A camouflage scheme Alize service history & information on the aircraft can be found here - http://www.ffaa.net/aircraft/alize/alize.htm Happily there is still an airworthy Alize in France & plenty of photos of the aircraft easily found on the internet via Google - there are several preserved examples in various museums. The Alize model photos are the best I could do on my iPhone. Orion
Hello CJP, I have followed your struggle with this model. But, as I look at the final result, it was worth all the misery. This is modeling by a very determent person that has to get it right. And you did. Besides this all, the Alizé is a beautiful designed aircraft that proudly served the National French Navy for many years. Question: What will be your next assignment? Regards, Orion

Regards, Orion Thanks Orion, it was a lot of work and I don't think I would ever do another FM Alize - it would be nice to see a manufacturer produce a modern 1/48 kit of it but that probably wont happen - next up is to finish my 1/32 A4G Skyhawk that has been put on hold while I finished the Alize - have to remember where I was up to with it now. CJP Hello again CJP ! First : Gaudart asked me to tell you how much he admires your work on your Alizé , and especially the way you managed to capture the sitting attitude of the plane. ( not to mention the amazingly quick building time !!!! ) Second : My buddy built a Super Etendard shortly after the Breguet and decided to present it nearby the Alizé .... on the Clemenceau's deck ! ... and BTW , yes , the clock works !!! See below : And , last but not least , concerning your request : stay tuned !

CJP
I knew the three seat Alize was about the same size as the Fairey Gannet but when you put the Alize next to a Wyvern you realise what a beast the single seat Wyvern was CJP Edited January 9, 2019 by CJP text

basket
Hi CJP, Hi all ! Sorry for my late reply but last week and week-end were very busy ! Let's talk first about wheel chocks : it seems the one you scratched-built are quite good : see link below ( message #13 ) http://www.anciens-cols-bleus.net/t8481-aeronavale-divers-breguet-alize-br-1050 Nevertheless several ones were also used , and , as said via PM , Gaudart sent me the following photographs : About towbar : thanks to a Gaudart's friend , member of a french restorer team in Corbas ( website here ), we have detailled photographs and all measurements IN MILLIMETERS . I hope it will help ! One last word CJP : check your PM . 1
CJP
Hello basket - thank you and Henri for that photo information & link - looks like a bit of variety with chocks - I found a photo of those chocks on the link below the photo and guessed the dimensions of the chock in comparison to the wheel - close enough I think - the photos and dimensions of the towbar are perfect so now I have to make one! http://www.master194.com/photo_avion/alize/alize.htm Thanks to you both for your support and providing interesting useful information in my post.
