No complaints from me with that list👍

No doubt the usual suspects will be crawling from underneath their respective stones armed with their silly red pens when the G-6/14AS, and Erla G,-10s are released, still they keep me amused. 😂

One thing is clear from the list which goes ahead all the way to 2021. Which will be the tenth anniversary of the original 48th scale MiG-21 series first release. The quarter scale Fishbed family is now a closed project so after ten years there is absolutely no plan to do the MiG-21F-13 (which was so dear to Czech modellers and manufactured in numbers locally) nor any of the two-seat trainer versions. They were only promises. Ten years gone, there is no point in waiting any more.

The 72nd family will be even shorter it seems, with only the PF and PFM coming and possibly the R but even that just in years. We can forget the SM, SMT and the  bis versions not to speak of the MiG-21F-13 and the two seaters (which Sulc admittedly never liked). :(

Sad but what else can one expect based on Sulc comments over the years.

Some people were dreaming of new tool Edu MiG-19’s, MiG-17’s or MiG-23’s . . .  Forget it!!!

Best regards

Gabor

MiG-17 was never popular in Czechoslovakia - they have very quickly passed from the -15 to the (also locally built) - 19. The -17 has been licenced only to Poland and China.

Thankfully a new tool will appear later this year from Airfix. But you're right - I was one of those many dreaming about the new tool Eduard MiG-19 and -23. Pity...

Cheers

As I mentioned before - this list is a clear demonstration that Eduard is abandoning 1/72 scale. Fokker D.VII is their only 2019 new tool... No new Hasegawa repacks...

If you looks at the list, the only completely or substantially new tool kits are the 1/48 P-51s, 1/48 Avia CS/S-199 (presumably reuses Bf109G wings) and the 1/72 Fokker D.VIIs. Everything else is a rebox of somebody else's kit or a revision of a previous release. Hopefully there are some additional projects in the works that are being kept secret.

Really? Foker D.VII, MiG-21PF, MiG-21PFM, Z-37 Čmelák, VBŠ Kuňkadlo... Those are 1/72 new tool kits that should be released in some way this year.

Bf-109K, Spitfire V, II, I... Those were already presented in September at Eday, either during the talk or even in pictures (renders).

Me too!

I am sure there are other projects in the Secret dungeon deep below Edu HQ. But in case of the MiG-21 project there is nothing secret about it any more, if not the fact that it is no more.

Yeah, the MiG-17 was basically only a MiG-15 with the “upgraded engine and new wings“. At the start this was the definition of it by MiG OKB, changed only later to MiG-17. Still it served a lot and was not so bad in the air as it was shown in Vietnam.

Pity about the MiG-19 and MiG-23, but to make it (research, design and make all the production tools)  costs a lot of money!!! Why invest all that cash when you can easily and cheaply simply repack someone else’s work and investment under your own name.

Sad but there is nothing we can do.

Best regards

Gabor
