Spooky!  Last night I dug out my 1:450 scale Hasegawa HMS Vanguard thinking "I must overcome my non-standard scale bias and build this thing".

A straight-deck Midway in 1/700 ? Aren't you joking?

That's the greatest news since the Apollo 11 on the Moon !

Moreover - knowing the Very Fire a little bit there should be the CoralSea and FDR somewhere in the pipeline.

And it means the 1/700 F8F at last :)

Cheers

A new HMS Vanguard has been on my wishlist for a while and that 1/700 SMS Baden is quite tempting as well; we're spoiled for choice.

Not totally spoiled though - the 1/700 Vanguard is on my wishlist too. It's only lack of place for the 1/350 post-Jutland capital ships

Nevertheless Montana has been issued by VF both in 1/700 and 1/350... So there's always hope :)

Cheers

Michael

The illustration Alex posted isn't, I'm afraid, much help.  It's a (poorly) colourised version of a well-known photo of Renown in Hvalfjord which seems to have been taken in January 1942 - may not be an indication of the eventual model's configuration, but the photo is not late war.

Because of the recent 1/350th Group III T-class submarine and recently announced HMS Vanguard I thought that these two future release books might be of interest (and even inspire)  ;
