Me Bf 109B-1 - 1:72 Heller

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. Happy New Year!

Here's Heller's Bf 109B-1 which I built back in 1998.

It represents "6-26", of 2/J88, Condor Legion used during the Spanish Civil War, in 1937.

The only modification I recall making was opening up the engine exhaust holes.

The kit was fully painted and weathered by brush with only the varnish being airbrushed.

Thanks for looking and all comments are welcome

Miguel

Lovely little thing. Brings back memories of my one of these. I must try to find it, in a box somewhere!

Excellent rendition of Heller's oldie but goodie – AFAIK the first kit that got the general shape of the Jumo-powered 109:s correct.

The fine raised lines on the aft fuselage also succeed in portraying the overlapping sections better than the de rigeur grooves of later day kits – IMHO, of course.

A 'strue' radio antenna wouldn't come amiss, though… 😉

Splendid work!

Kind regards,

Joachim

Very nice! I too built one of these many years ago. I still have it (I think), in my storeroom.

Back then I didn't "dare" mess with that. Funny thing is when I was posting the photos here I noticed that too 😊. I just don't like going back and mesddling with what I have already finished (unless it was damaged)!

Thank you very much to all for your likes and comments.

In fact I have another of this kit in my stash to make the C-1 variant!

Very nice little model, I've built a few of them long time ago and still have to unbuilt in the stash.

I remember the kit is very accurate!

I know exactly what you mean. Done is done, and the lessons saved for the next one!

Kind regards,

Joachim
