Spad
Reasonable year for me (though I have done better!) The year kicked off with a bit of an oddity for me, the Revell re-release from their golden era - the Honest John tactical nuke missile transporter. Supposed to depict a fresh delivery of a new missile in it's packing crates - probably a bit of artistic licence on the part of Revell involved here....! Next up was the two 1/144 Daco Skyline 737s in Western Pacific billboard liveries. Great little models built for the 737 STGB on here. So much fun that I now have 2 more to do in further WestPac livery! Simpson's livery Colorado Springs livery - this one was a battle I can tell you! But I'm very fond of it tbh. ] Next came a SoD resident. Meng F-102 in 1/72Been up there since mid 2013 in a just decalled state so I figured it was about time to finish it - from the box except some generic seat harness and a Master pitot tube Now two very long term denizens of "the stash" Airfix Ford Zodiac Mk III - built to replicate my Dad's car from the early and mid 70s (roughly when I got the kit!) Built for the Car and Motorcycle SIG at Telford this year - theme "Best of British" - great motivation to get on with it! Airfix Ariel Arrow - a birthday present from 1982 - also built for the Car and Motorcycle SIG at Telford theme "Best of British" - also great motivation as this one stalled, probably in 1982! Finally, one that didn't make it into a RFI gallery yet but was finished last year for a local British Legion that had approached our club to build and Airfix Valiant and Vulcan - I chose the Vulcan. Crazy you might think but it was great practice and learning for when I build my own - I knew the Vulcan would be a bit of a challenge so this was good experience. Re-scribed as I just knew I would lose so much surface detail with all the sanding! I also learned how to use Tamiya bendy masking tape - not as straight forward as I expected tbh! Brief was to build gear up hence the Tamiya spray stand. Reasonably happy with the output - interesting for me to note how much was the result of building to themes or events/commissions so now I need to find my own motivations - then I can really have a go at, perhaps, at least containing the stash growth! Happy new year all! ATB Rick
roginoz
What an interesting and varied selection !! The Inter towing the Honest John has come up very nicely, and the Zodiac is reminiscent of a car my dad owned in the 60's. I remember the Ariel Arrow kit, think I built one in my yoof; a friend had a 'golden' Arrow and I remember the flat calm morning as we set off down the Denham Bypass on our bikes for Farnborough, he leading and us following in a cloud of two stroke exhaust as he did his bit for air pollution !! Gonna have to try and track down that kit.....rare as r.h.s. no doubt ! The F-102 is a cracker and my stash is the poorer for the absence of a kit - to be remedied this year.......my NY resolution, easily kept. I imagine the Legion was more than happy with the Vulcan. Our local RSL is the grateful recipient of my models when I run out of space. An eclectic mix, love 'em all ! Rog

Corsairfoxfouruncle
Very interesting collection, my favorite is the deuce. I did the same markings on a Revellogram 1/48 Deuce.
