Hi Sven,

 

Having been to China Lake, you're right, it is close to the end of the world. It's amazing how far you drive after entering the base before you get to the hard-standing area.

 

Is that a silver/white B-52 in the background of number four?

It's a B-47 that had recently been pulled off their bombing range and was refurbished (don't know that I can say "restored") to be sent to a museum.
