The Spadgent
Good evening fello Modellers. Strange as it is I have gingerly crept into the grotto over the the weekend and managed a bit of whittling on the old wobble chopter. The fingers on my right paw are ok at little bits and my left paw is pretty much at full capacity so what did I have to lose? Maybe feeling and use of my right hand due to none rest? But I’m willing to take the risk. 🤣 On the day of the op I managed to fill some gaps here and there with PPP and get the PE in place. gorilla glue and some Tamiya tape got that held in place long enough to stick. Friday was the day after the op so I did test that day but yesterday I couldn’t resist a little try out of the bionic mitt. Tail glued with little actuators fitted. Side boxes fitted. I gave the rotors a dry fit too and a bit of a spin to see if they worked. (They do) Then a final light grey prime. And now dry from some choice angles. Which brings us to this morning. I thought I’d try this out. I masked the doors and gave ‘em a blast of internal blue with the bandaged mitt. not bad. Don’t worry about those pin marks, they will be facing the fuselage. Pushing the trigger was a bit of a struggle but when it got a bit twitchy I switched hands. It seems I can use my left to Airbrush too, I remenber doing this on a previous build but I’m damned if I can remember why I needed too. I decided to set about a heavy pre shade as I want the grey to really pop. I’m doing black first then white in the middle sections. Here’s the black with a mixture of left and wobbly right paws. and over by the window. I’m super happy with that. It looks though with some care I can indeed get some bench time in while recovering. so here’s to tomorrow. Thanks for all the well wishes and I hope you all had a lovely weekend. Take care and as always dear chums. Happy Modelling. Johnny.

Dansk
Impressive dedication! Looking at everything from a positive POV the wobbly right and left probably makes the preshading even greater and super realistic - not being so perfect etc. Best wishes with the recovery. 👍 Edit: Wish my regular right hand could do preshading that good by the way! Brandy
Not bad for cack-handed painting. In fact it's pretty bloody good for any-handed painting! Bestest for a swift recovery, at least you now know you won't get bored. Ian 2
The Spadgent
Good afternoon gents. My first day of leave and after a walk to the park with Zero I got settled with some more Helecopter action and something else!!!😮 First off I decided to get the landing gear built. These are a little awkward as the instructions don’t really tell you which way around the blasted things go but a few dry fits sorted them out. nice! The other side got built too so a fight broke out. 🤣 The wheels got built too but while they were drying my mind drifted to a kit I was bought for secret Santa maybe two years ago. A cRaZy thought popped in there, what if I build it on the side of this one and I’ll shrink the stash at the same time? Good idea eh? No? Surely..... well I know it’s not an aeroplane but it’s close. she’s only little and I think in between painting I can get this done. 😜 I hope that’s ok with everyone? It has some lovely coloured instructions. and it looks like I started it too. For a tiny kit the detail is great. These bits got primed Painted. ready to be put in the kit. all the other bits got a white base coat some dark grey and left to dry. I didn’t bother with a pre shade as it might look a bit odd at this scale. (My first 1/112) check Mr D2 he’s tiny. While I hade white in the brush I thinned it and did hi lights on the wocca. And the other side. nice. Ready for the grey.😃 that should show through just as planned. Off for a cuppa now. More later. Thanks for dropping by. Johnny Two kits one hand. Brandy
1:112? That's a scale I've not heard of before. Besides that, how can you give a scale to a model of something that was only a model? Ian

The Spadgent
I apologize in advance for this post. It has nothing at all to do with the Helix but it does have this thing in it covered in Flory. grey to be exact. I was having so much fun I couldn’t go back till it was done. so. I began rubbing back the wash. Then glued the whole thing together except guns and knocked back some more. Popped the little dude in. Painted some jet things using white then Tamiya clear blue. Then THEN I noticed it had no feet? Gah no probs I made a base from a rattle can lid a cocktail stick and some plasticard. Blue Peter tastic! The whole lot got a few yellow filters with Tamiya weather washes and a mat coat. Then masks off. Mr D2 just going in. 😍 and done. Well that was the quickest build I ever did. And a lovely distraction. Back to the wobble chopter tomorrow I promise. Thank you for indulging in my Stash reduction. Happy Modelling Guys ‘n’ Gals.
