Reini78
As I already mentioned in the past, my dad wants to get rid of all the old Hasegawa 109s in our stash by building them, only a few are left now. He decided to use once again the Rising Decals sheet and build, besides the SAAF G-4, a former G-10 of NJG11 that was captured by Canadians of 401 Sqn RAF in April 1945. This time the sheet needs some care, decals are a bit brittle. Reini78
tried to secure some of the decals with Micro Liquid Decal Film because they are partly brittle and got this result...a pity because they had a nice "handpainted" style DSC_0001 by Reinhard Spreitzhofer, auf Flickr gonna do it with crosses and roundels from the sparebox DSC_0002 by Reinhard Spreitzhofer, auf Flickr
RadMax8
Looks great so far! A real shame about the decals. Where does your father cut the landing gear, and by how much? It’s tough to see from the photo.

Reini78
3 hours ago, RadMax8 said: I can see it now, thank you! Some time ago my dad compared the different kit legs with scale drawings in the Kagero 109 books. He thought that the Hasegawa and Eduard landing gears always looked too upright or too "storch" like and compared with the drawings, they were a bit too long. Although he is no hardcore rivet counter, nevertheless he began to shorten the legs with recent builds. They look a bit more realistic now. Tamiya and Fujimi got it right with their G models. Reini78
The new decal sheet should be on its way but my dad didn´t want to wait anymore so he used some roundels from the sparesbox and did some cutting around the edges to have the same handpainted look as with the other roundels from Rising Decals.
