Mitch K Posted December 31, 2018 Share Posted December 31, 2018 More Footsore heroes/characters, Bedivere (on the right) and Mordred (Mordred's nobody's hero...). Mordred, as he always seems to, has a full-face mask on his helm, although this one seems to owe more to the Sutton Hoo helm of King Raedwald of East Anglia than the usual late-Roman cavalry display headdress. Bedivere will get some modification: in many of the stories Bedivere is depicted as having only one hand, although due to his speed he was more dangerous than any other man with two hands. 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Mitch K Posted January 2, 2019 Author Share Posted January 2, 2019 The re-modelling of Bedivere is as follows: I have a left hand, holding a sword, as a spare from Gripping Beast's Viking warrior set. The sword itself is a slightly odd shape, but I'll ignore that for now. A quick measure up shows the sword is too long for the scabbard Bedivere has. Oddly enough, so is the moulded sword... The right hand and sword are removed, and put aside as spares - far too nice to waste! The replacement sword was re-shaped both in length and in taper. The new length is such that Bedivere could draw this with his left hand and wear his sword on the same side, as Roman Legionaries wore and used the Gladius. Mitch K Posted January 6, 2019 Author Share Posted January 6, 2019 Here's Mordred, progressing well, with an after-market spear. He isn't a tricky paint job, as there's no face to do. The goop on the base is artists' texture paste. Bedivere is progressing a bit slower. I've got the colours blocked in ready to shade and highlight. I may change the red of the tunic to something more of a claret shade, and the wolfskin on his shoulders will need a lot of work. Bonus item! This is Footsore's Guinevere. Bedivere (Bedwyr) has straps on the leather cuff he wear on his right wrist - these were added using foil and a greenstuff buckle, and allow hi, to strap on his shield. Mordred!
