s.e.charles
converting a 1:60 Billing Boats Rainbow #201 to 1:35 scale. Q: anyone suggest a 1:35 scale engine which could plausibly power this craft? thanks
dnl42
Would you make it as an open launch? In that case, how about a single-cylinder steam engine with a vertical boiler? Think African Queen. For a more compact arrangement, you could do it as a naptha launch, where the engine and boiler would often enough be a single unit. Here's a working machined model that might provide some guidance. Bonhoff
Diesel lorry engine from a 1/35 scale truck? Might also be worth getting the thread moved to the "Maritime Modelling" section 🙂 Edited January 1, 2019 by Bonhoff
