Plasto
Hi, I have been working in the new 1/48 Sea fury... Nothing much to to say on the build it’s OOB. Apart from a missing sprue frame it’s been ok. I ditched the raised detail in front of the windscreen. im now we’ll into the painting... black surfacer base on... following a polish on with Tamiya LP11 for the HSS base coat and a few other lacquers for the markings... Once that had hardened up I added the exhaust panel in using decanted Molotow chrome ink.. Im not aware of any other paint that gives such a reflective finish...I’ll leave it for at least 4 days to fully cure off before I progress with the exhaust staining and heat effects on the panel... The combination of the new Tamiya lacquer paints and the Molotow marker have given me my most pleasing HSS finish yet.. More later once that ink has fully cured.. cheers Plasto..
Plasto
So progress... Base decals on and some heat effects on the exhaust panel.... Decals are from Ventura. They are older but worked well. I used Microsol/set on them and this worked well.. The Molotow chrome set up hard and rub resistant after 4+ days of drying..
neil5208
How do you thin the Molotow chrome ink for spraying?
abat
Very nice finish. I’ve not seen this scheme in a Sea Fury before.
