Looking good,my S4 is going to be delivered tomorrow :) how was the show?

I got offered tickets for trade day on Friday to go with my eldest, but couldn't get the day off work as I had a meeting with a contractor that I couldn't get out of unfortunately

Hi ian

thanks again, the show was good fun, but a long day for an 11 year old! Worth it for all of the HyperCars he’d say. Lol

i nearly got barged by Thierry neuville as he was signing something for a fan, and we didn’t see each other coming.

And we saw Nicky grist on his stand. As I’ve shown my eldest a few McRae clips before, he at least knew who he was.

conversation was something like “do you remember the Colin McRae clip with the jumps when he asks afterwards ‘did you like that wee man?’

...well that’s the wee man” 😂😂

That looks the business. I like how you've managed to fiddle the Audi logo on there.

All looking very good, excellent scratch building skills on show here!! Well, you made me buy the kit and of course I had to have the photo-etch set as well...

Glad to hear that I’m contributing to your obsession/illness Steve 😂

I got a little sidetracked with other projects and have been lazy on this one. I’ve become a little obsessed with trying to cast some of these parts in a more pliable material, and recently I’ve been on a quest to source some good minilite wheels for a pair of mk1 and mk2 Roger Clark cars I want to do together.

In the end I adapted two sets of the belkits wheels from the mk1 escort kit to have more dish/depth to them, and am happy with the result. Still need some good tarmac minilite wheels/tyres for other escorts too. Got some ordered from fireball models and am going to order from motorbitz in the uk too.

ill get this project moving again soon too I’m sure

Wondered if you'd seen this at Spotmodel? Not the cheapest item but wow, it certainly looks good!!

I have Steve, saw it today as it happens.

My build has been on hold for ages now through distraction of other kits and, well, just life really....

I'm not going to lie, it makes me a little sad that I can't get to that level of detail myself, but I can get to justifying that price to purchase one 😂😂😂

But that also feels like 'giving up' on my part too

What a dilemma....

Sometimes when time is at a premium in your life it's just easier to go with the ready made one. It's not really giving up, just giving yourself a helping hand 🙂

Go with the one you have built yourself much more satisfying imo especially since the one you have look really good. Of course if you think you don't have time to finish it then you might have to go with the other option.

My official reply to both of you would be.....

"I know, you're right..."

I'll decide finally once I re-visit the build properly, but my head says 'order one just in case' 😂😂😂

Appologise for the revival of an old thread but what came of your gorgeous looking S1 engine, did she get finished?

Hi guys

Revivals welcome! And apologies for my complete lack of anything at all for far too long.

I've been bouncing around my different hobbies and pastimes to keep sane during constant lockdowns and haven't built anything since finishing the fiesta WRC model and stalling work on the escort MK2

Currently building prop weapons and items from the blade runner franchise, but the rally cars are waiting.

The audi engine stalled where it was, and i did purchase an engine kit from the brilliant ukrainian scale cars production website, and was undecided at the time as to continue with the scratch build using the kit for reference on some smaller parts where images are scarce. But the current project would still be the escort, if it weren't for the other hobbies and obsessions, lol

I've also bought parts for the metro 6r4 and other brilliant detail up kits that have been popping up over lockdown, so there's lots to do.

I managed to re-construct my garage entirely as a hobby/builder space during last winter (icy icy hands replacing guttering/insulating roof/building workbenches etc). Winter was not the best timing, but the results are brilliant for my airbrushing and general making setup. So once I get these props sorted and finished, the audi might be the best one to start back in on?

As always you guys will be the first to know.

My best, as always

Paul
