I scratchbuilt this studio scale SHADO mobile a few years ago.

Not being happy with the finish I decided to re-do it, incorporating the gun turret and mortar as featured in the episode "Sounds of Silence".

I used original Tiger Joe wheels and tracks, and I did my best to source as many original greeblies as possible, scratchbuilding the ones I could not get hold of.

The markings are from JBOT.

Brilliant - this is quite the sort of model that I love - and I'd really like to see it and have a really good look at this. One of my favourite TV sci-fi transports and reminds me of many a happy day when my old green Dink Shado 2 guarded my bedroom doorway threshold defending off my sisters invading Pippa dolls

Top marks to you there

I had (still have) the Corgi diecast of this vehicle, so I have a soft-spot for it, although mine was green.  Thanks for the trip down memory lane ^_^

Cracking stuff. A great scratchbuild indeed.

The figures help to bring it to life I think.

I've identified some of the greeblies too!

@Mike You lose two housepoints and a gold star. It was a Dinky, not Corgi. Tsk.

Oh for shame! :suicide: It's a bit far to go to my parents' at this time of night and check :tease:

Very neat touch.   I did find a site one time, which listed what these bits were used. ..

I was going to ask, so then I googled up "shado mobile greeblies" ....and got this

which maybe of interest to folks as a comparison, and as link to the site listing the greeblies...

cheers

PS now looking at Dave Sissons site, I realise it was your initial SHADO posting is where I found it from....   for anyone running across this, very well worth a look round if you like this sort of thing....
