John Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 I always expected the *next* Matchbox 1/32 scale kit to be a Gladiator and was always a bit disappointed that it wasn't. It's been a long time coming. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on one at last. John
bentwaters81tfw Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 Will this spur Airfix on, or kill their 1/24 plans?
Work In Progress Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 The last time Airfix was planning to release a 1/24 Gladiator was 1980, so no, this won't affect them.
JohnT Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 I wonder how it will compare against the Silver Wings version I have already

I know we've hijacked this thread slightly but I also think that Airfix would be well advised to do a Glad as the rigging would be pretty easy in this scale and its quite a compact aeroplane but with a lot going on! I'm glad that you mentioned it, I haven't for awhile but I d rather have a Glad than a Hellcat - although I appreciate that a Hellcat probably has a far wider overseas sales potential so I can't fault their logic. But an ICM Glad will be great and will no doubt be an easier build than the Silver Wings kit but the SW kit is very refined in its detail but, of course, is now virtually (if not totally) sold out so clearly SW knew what was going on!! Undoubtedly considerably cheaper to! Simon
Admiral Puff Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 Maybe, given that ICM is doing the Glad, Airfix might redirect their efforts towards a Gauntlet ... I know the scales are different, but having the two would be lovely! And 2019 is looking more and more expensive by the day!
robertlundin Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 So there flies my SilverWings Gladiator to Ebay. 1
593jones Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 Very nice, it might just persuade me to do a 1/32 aircraft

Admiral Puff Posted January 16, 2019 Posted January 16, 2019 Methinks it's time to research the 3RAAF aircraft ...

Scimitar F1 Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 Very excited about this one indeed. Can see several joining the stash. ICM have ticked off two kits on my must have list this year with this and the A-26. Any chance of a Scimitar next year?
fightersweep Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 I'm up for two of these without a doubt. ....and didn't ICM also announce a 1/32 CR-42 as well? Steve
trickydicky210 Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 Some lovely CAD images of the kit here http://www.icm.com.ua/news/636-news.html Hope the kit turns out as good as these look Rich 3

Description: Gloster Gladiator Mk.I WWII British Fighter (100% new moulds) (next release. expected early December) Manufacturer: ICM Code Number: ICM32040 Scale: 1:32 Item type: Aircraft kits (injection) Price: £43.99 £39.59 (Put this on Backorder and save 10%!) 1
Stew Dapple Posted November 5, 2019 Posted November 5, 2019 Hannants have a 'Future Releases' price suggesting an RRP of £43.99 but with 10% off if you pre-order it... I suspect (without any evidence) that it will end up around the same price as ICM's I-153 kit i.e. in the mid-thirties... Cheers, Stew Edit: d'oh! Ninja'd by Julien! 1
