I always expected the *next* Matchbox 1/32 scale kit to be a Gladiator and was always a bit disappointed that it wasn't.

It's been a long time coming. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on one at last.

I discussed it at with Airfix at Telford last year and this. It ain't dead. :ninja:

I know we've hijacked this thread slightly but I also think that Airfix would be well advised to do a Glad as the rigging would be pretty easy in this scale and its quite a compact aeroplane but with a lot going on! I'm glad that you mentioned it, I haven't for awhile but I d rather have a Glad than a Hellcat - although I appreciate that a Hellcat probably has a far wider overseas sales potential so I can't fault their logic.

But an ICM Glad will be great and will no doubt be an easier build than the Silver Wings kit but the SW kit is very refined in its detail but, of course, is now virtually (if not totally) sold out so clearly SW knew what was going on!! Undoubtedly considerably cheaper to!

Maybe, given that ICM is doing the Glad, Airfix might redirect their efforts towards a Gauntlet ... I know the scales are different, but having the two would be lovely!

And 2019 is looking more and more expensive by the day!

Hannants have a 'Future Releases' price suggesting an RRP of £43.99 but with 10% off if you pre-order it... I suspect (without any evidence) that it will end up around the same price as ICM's I-153 kit i.e. in the mid-thirties...

Cheers,

Stew
