My son and heir is with Royal Signals and currently based at Merville Barracks. He completed P Company earlier this year, and earned his parachute wings this Autumn. He has talked about this Dakota - so I'm very glad to read about the history that it represents. "Dad, have you got a model Dakota?" "Yes, I've got 4 models, and built another for a colleague whose GrandFather flew them in the Berlin Airlift." "Have you got a kit that I can make?" By the way, the starboard aileron has a trim tab about a rib in and three ribs wide. Something Airfix missed. I have built three of the new tool Airfix Dak and rectified this small issue on all and includes another I have waiting primer application.
