Formation proficiency mission, July 1984. That's Rogers Dry Lake below. Air Force Systems Command (AFSC) badge added to the tail.

 

On approach to Runway 22. The dashed lines on the lakebed indicate an emergency runway. The solid line is a reference for doing Tower Fly-By passes, a pitot static calibration technique.

Surely that's two different T-38s? 01558 and 88158 which I assume are FY 70-1558 and 68-8158?  Or did they change the tail number so it's not the federal year serial or something?

 

Lovely pictures by the way.  That family of aircraft looks fast just standing still!

Apparently I forgot to respond to you, Will. Yes, they are two different aircraft and I got my two computer files confused. I've since separated them into two posts.

 

As for the F-5/T-38 family, I agree, a very sleek and compact airframe design.
