BIG X
Well I've been having a bit of fun today and here's the result - A little Spitfire sculpture for my desk... It was just a bit of festive fun - I hope you like it...
Buzby061
Very nice indeed. I remember my Dad had a brass Hurricane on a stand, wish I knew where it went. Pete

Hi Vince - I quickly 'improvised' the stand using a glass tea light holder - you know - those awful little candles with tin foil round them. It was 'heavy' and a pretty shape - but boy is glass tough to drill. I drilled out a hole in the base then superglued a styrene rod in the hole - with a pin on the top to pierce and hold the Spit - this is what it looked like before... Now I've made it I think it would suit a 1/48 model better - it was just knocked up in a rush - as I needed something to pop my ornament on. 1

noelh
Great idea. Now I can just imagine you sitting behind the desk in a three piece suit, quaffing a fine Cognac while puffing on a Cuban cigar.
