Just Passing Through: VC10

I'm hazarding a guess to your question. I have a friend who used to be in the RAF  He told me that they regularly flew to California, often sight seeing via the Grand Canyon, to collect specialist kit for the nuclear industry on this side of the pond.

What Dave, brilliant  reference shots, a modellers dream . Are there any 1/144 of these.

Steve.

Airfix if you can get hold of an example.  Otherwise it's cutting down a Roden K4

This shows what can be done with the Airfix kit. It's worth having a look at the building thread which is linked in the Airliner Cafe thread.

For the civilians amongst us the Roden Super VC-10 is readily available and can be cut down to make a beautiful Standard if you can't find an Airfix example at a sensible price.

Thanks for that info Dave, at risk of sounding like a complete Philistine re VC-10 lore, I hadn't spotted that ZA144 was a K2, I think a Roden K3 in similar scheme will keep me happy, easier & probably cheaper than finding an Airfix kit.

Steve.
