Note, though, that this a RWD machine, not a PZW one. Not sure if they were related (besides being Polish) regarding production or facilities. Unless you meant RWD and made a typo, of course. I did in fact get it wrong, RDW was the firm she worked for. Original post corrected. Martian 👽

GrzeM
Martian! What a great story! 18 hours ago, Martian Hale said: I did in fact get it wrong, RDW was the firm she worked for. Martian 👽 BTW, there was epydemy of typos 🙂 The factory which made this airplane was RWD (from Rogalski-Wigura-Drzewiecki founders and main designers - they started as students!). The PZW is producer of this kit(!) and the other Polish aviation factory is PZL. In 30s PZL specialised in all-metal constructions so she could not have worked in PZL. BTW - both factories shared the same airfield - Warsaw Okęcie (present main Warsaw Airport). The work goes great! Moa, congratulations! And this one produced the RWD-8 for Army!!! But PWS was not in Warsaw. In fact the "real" RWD factory name was DWL (Doświadczalne Warsztaty Lotnicze - Experimental Aviation Workshops) and the RWD was the name of the airplanes produced by them. So there were RWD-8 DWL (produced by the maternal factory in Warsaw) and RWD-8 PWS (license buit for Army by the facotry in Biała Podlaska.

Original post corrected again but she definitely worked on these aircraft,. She remembered the name and confirmed the type when I began to describe it's appearance to confirm that we were both talking about the same aircraft. It was really difficult to escape to Sweden from occupied Poland. Do you know if she was a courier of the Polish Underground State?

Do you know if she was a courier of the Polish Underground State? Not that I am aware of. She escaped met and married a Polish airman after the arrived in this country. I can try and find out more about her escape when I see my friend at the weekend. Martian 👽 1
fjaweijfopi4j48
The aftermarket decals have arrived, they look nice and they seem well-produced, with interesting support material: Meanwhile I added two P.E. footrests on the right side as per photos (the kit has them engraved in a small oblong shape)
fjaweijfopi4j48
The List has arrived. Small details are starting to be dealt with: painting the leather coaming, the exhausts, the control horns, etc. The fuel trolley is now completed as per one image from the Net, I believe from the Polish NAC: The plane I am modeling did not have the additional fuel tank on the center wing, but the trolley was used surely to fuel it to 😉
Courageous
The list getting smaller and she's looking great. Can we have a close-up of your fuel trolley as that looks rather nice in its own right? Stuart 1

Smudge
Another lovely build. I have this kit, and at least one other small RWD type. Really enjoying seeing what can be done with them. 1

fjaweijfopi4j48
The aftermarket decals are excellent and gave no problem. Here they are just applied and still wet (it's raining heavily): Still to do: insertion of fuselage control levers, six control cables that run on the exterior, prop, windshields, wheels, stab struts and rigging, aileron cables on wing cut out, etc.
