Nice work, but I think the Nose of the T-10M is a little

more pointed ...What do you think ?

Thanks Neffan. Regarding to nose here is the reference picture I have used to shape the cone:

It seems to me that the nose cone is in correct shape, isn't it? 🤔

I have made some progress in my project. All three aircrafts have been assembled and now ready to fill the joints with putty before applying primer coat (left to right M9, M11 and M1):

I use Oramask foil to mask filler area:

And after applying putty and removing masks:

The next step will be coating all the parts with primer...

  • Serkan Sen changed the title to Su-27M (T-10M Series) in 1/72 scale - Part 0: Kitbash using Revell/Zvezda Su-27SM and Su-33

I had nothing to report since long time after having a bleeding/sweating resin disaster on my both Flankerstein and T-10M projects. I have replaced all resin parts in my Flankerstein project and almost completed that build. The only missing part is the payload that can be added later.

Here are some pictures of my hopeless recovery attempts from sweating resin problem. All kits were placed in oven and the temperature was set to 60°C for 4 hours:

After 4 hours baking in the oven what I got was the distorted wings and air intakes:

But this disaster did not stop me (but maybe a bit slowed me down 🙂 ). As I did in Flankerstein build I have rescued the kit parts as much as possible and started to rebuild:

From now on I will launch dedicated topics for each T-10M builds:

T-10M3 (703):

The other builds will follow...

Hang in there
The reaction of the resin is strange.

I hope your solutions will overcome these problems.

In 2017 I had started a transformation (on stand-by for the moment) of a Zvezda kit to make a T10M ( 703 ), but with the only zvezda kit, and I had to find different solutions.
But your subject teaches me a lot, really, it's a mine of information and tricks.
Thank you very much.

I haven't expressed myself on your subject yet, I'm still a bit new, but I'm very assiduously following this transformation.

Hang in there, I'm sure you'll make it, and these T10Ms, I think they're really beautiful, it's worth building them.

Yes I have fixed all the problems especially caused by aged resin.

I have also learned a lot during this project and improved my manufacturing skills. Now I can build the T-10M family easily as I have all parts in my stock.

Gutted about that resin!  :(

However it seems clear a 'little' thing like that ain't going to stop you.....Kudos!  :coolio:

No pain no gain!..

It was my fault to use old resin without checking its shelf life end date... I learned in hard (painful) way not to use aged resin for casting.

Any chance to find our kits (with some resin parts) distorted after many years?
