pinky coffeeboat
For the NO STEP markings, make sure you then paint a foot print on top of it - it always makes me laugh when I see a dirty big boot print on a NO STEP markings. Strange thing is, the most convenient place to step is always the place you're told not to step... For the exhaust stains be careful with the staining on the rear sliding fairing (around the No2 engine/ exhaust) not much will be seen ahead of the No 1 & 2 exhausts, some dirt maybe but not exhaust stains. perdu
First world problems huh I only have small red cross symbols left, no yellow footprints And some of my photos show un-'warninged' weapons pylons which looks likely to be how this one gets finished As for exhaust staining, probably gone overboard but it will have to be now, I'm not adding extra under any circumstances It is what it is now, I'm not up for a repaint Now I am trying to work out which of the blade markings will be seen The information placards are on, just outboard of the curved trailing edges underneath and what looks like a blade tie down point in some circles going on next
hendie
sorry for being MIA for a while Bill. I've just been catching up on your wonderfulness of making/sticking/covering things in the last day or two. What can I say? Everything is up to your usual "haphazard" style and providing some much needed entertainment of the highest order. thanks Bill !
CedB
Another vote for Daco Strong, as long as you're very careful. It does melt the whole thing and it WILL crack up if you touch it before it's dry. Smoke? Not my area of expertise but I do like a dirty bird…

Installed early on after the rotor brake came on in flight but the aircrew couldn't see the black smoke pouring out from the upper trans deck as there was no rear view mirrors fitted to the Merlin at that time... Also slightly interesting - one of the pilots was the future CO of 814 and you're doing a tiger Merlin... Dirty looking Merlin? Looks spot on for the hard working (when they work..) aircraft they are. Jeff Edited April 13, 2019 by pinky coffeeboat 1
