1/72 Airfix, Higgins LCVP

SNAFU

Recommended Posts

Here a build from a few years a go

Higgins LCVP, USS Thurston AP-77 1944

Quick build OOB, airbrushed with Tamiya medium blue and dark grey. A lot of the LCVP were painted in the same colour as the Mother Ship. In this case it was medium blue, there are some colour pictures of LCVP from the USS Thurston on the internet.

Great looking landing craft the weathering looks good.

What Dennis said goes double for me, and I'm not a ship/boat modeler. I had no idea Airfix did this in kit form.

it's a crying shame that Airfix have withdrawn this

This was one of the Heller kits released under the Airfix label when there were under the same ownership. The molds returned to Heller and are still available under that brand on some web-sites.
