SNAFU
I know but water is rather difficult, and still beyond my skills and opportunities....
longshanks
I understand but a river is really easy. We are not talking clear water, they are cloudy with the earth washed into the river by the rain. Any DIY medium, crack filler, tile adhesive, tile grout etc. Flat base with a cut out for the hull. Wrap hull in foil or cling film. Spread water and push boat into it. Before the water fully sets remove boat and cut back and lumps whilst it is still soft. Waves on a river, 150mm max = 2mm so keep the surface smooth Bow wave and wake can be added with tissue and PVA (wood) glue. Paint various shades of brown. Bow wave light brown/green to white on top. Several coats of satin varnish The tissue/PVA can also be used to fill any gaps between boat and river. Go on give it a go. You are only talking about a couple of hours work and if it goes wrong you still have your PBR. If it goes right you've made a good model great . . . . Smudge
Nice. I have 'nearly' finished one of these myself. I like some of the detail you have added, like the outlets on the side of the hull. And is that a grenade launcher you made on the waist gun position? The crew look good. Like you I discarded the figures from the kit, just too much to do to get them looking anyway near decent, which is a shame as they could have looked quite cool. Never seen a Military Police boat before, I guess that's US Army? Mine is going to be a standard Navy Riverine Forces boat. 'Never get out of the boat.
