Sturmovik
This Hasegawa kit was offered on discount by a seller after he told me the Bf 109G-2 I had bought had the clear and resin parts missing, so I snatched it. This model doesn´t have the fit which Hasegawa is so praised for. Trying to glue the wing/fuselage join as is will result in a step, so the best course of action is to add a sprue, flatten it, and test fit, that way, the wings will sit flush with the fuselage (as shown in the first photo). The other area of concern is the wing itself, it´s the Ju 87B wing but with extensions, which aren´t well moulded and have a ridge where the wing was retooled. If you can, buy the Italeri Ju 87G-2, I bet since it´s the most recent offering, it is correctly moulded. The aircraft was brush painted with Revell acrylics, masked with Tamiya tape to get the hard edged camouflage, and I used a 2500 grit wet sandpaper to eliminate the paint ridges as best as I could. Hairtrigger
Very nice result indeed. I did the Revell version some time back not a nice kit, but perhaps an ancient classic. The flash and general fit made me nearly give it up. 3
Sturmovik
@Hairtrigger that old Revell model was my first and only 1:72 Ju 87. I even wrote a build review for it on Modeling Madness: http://www.modelingmadness.com/review/axis/luft/santoro87g.htm It's been almost 5 years since that. The only mistake I remember making was placing backwards the tactical markings. I was able to correct that though. dogsbody
Sturmovik, That a good looking Stuka you've got there. Hairtrigger, I built the Revell kit, way back in the mid-70's, not long after it's first release. I liked it. It was way better than the FROG Ju87G I had built earlier. About the only thing I found disappointing was the fit of the engine cover. I still have one in the stash. Chris
Greg Law
I take it this is the 1/48 model. I have built this kit recently. I used different decals because I refuse to do Rudel's plane after reading his book and about him. Anyone would think he won the war on his own. I had all the problems you had plus I lost the middle canopy at the last minute. Finally found it weeks later. Nice to see a good brush painted one.

I even remember asking you if that aircraft belonged to Rudel, could you post the link to your build? Losing the clear parts would be a nightmare. And worse it would be to hear a crack later and find it under your foot. Luckily you found it safe and sound.
Mark Joyce
It definitely looks like a Stuka, and a very nicely one done! Cheers, Mark

I might do a reshot using my new setup.

Mine with a bit of fiddling it does fit pretty well actually. In the 70s would have been regarded highly. I am reasonably happy with the end result. For me a learning experience. Greg Law
Here is a three shots of my one. In you can see the trouble I had with the centre canopy. Also the early with decals that silvered. I couldn't change by the time I had learnt more about decaling.
